23 Oct International Day of Radiology 2019 Morning Tea at Parliament House
Today a representative team from Wollongong Diagnostics went to Parliament House to celebrate the International Day of Radiology (IDOR) 2019. The Australian Diagnostic Imaging Association (ADIA) organised this morning tea to acknowledge the importance and impact of radiology in Australia. Radiology is at the forefront of diagnosis and treatment for the 9 million Australians who access its services each year Key speaker Health Minister Greg Hunt, discussed funding and policies to improve access to imaging, such ending the Medicare freeze on most x-rays and scans and reducing out of pocket costs for cancer patients. There was also an acknowledgement of struggles, such as the finite quantity of MRI licences and the impact this has on businesses and disadvantaged patients, especially in rural and regional Australia. Today we reflect on the hard work of radiologists, imaging technicians and other staff that have helped save lives across Australia.
